Today I was supposed to celebrate my girlfriend's exiting her old workplace. It was a place were she did not like much. We were supposed to go eat at a Japanese restaurant called Naoki's. It is a little hole in the wall nestled along the mainland of the riverside. Then we were supposed to go out and do something fun like bowling or watching a movie.
I should have woken her up and gone anyways. She probably thinks that I don't think the change was meaningful, but I really do since it is something she has been trying to do for a while now. I hope and pray that the new place is better for her so she is lessed stressed out.
Instead of going out, I had spent my time learning how to do the beginnings of coding with html. I am proud of what I have learned so far. The other day I had no knowledge whatsoever. Now here I am making a blog for the first time. Albeit a ugly basic looking blog, but a functional one nonetheless.
I did it! But shush don't tell anybody. I called in sick for work today, not because I am actually sick, but because I felt regretful for not celebrating my girlfriend's exit from her old workplace. Although it wasn't Naoki's Japanese restaurant, it was still a cultural and delightful breakfast this morning at Breakfast in Havana. They are a small Cuban cafe/restaurant. I haven't eaten there in a while. Our order was a Beef Empanada, Ham Croquettes, Croqueta Preparada, Cubano Sausage Desayuno, Guava cheesecake, and Caramael Cafe Con Leche Frio.
The Beef Empanada was hot, savory, and juicy. One bite and your liable to have its inner fluids drip down tus manos. I didn't eat the ham croquettes on the side, since the croqueta preparada already had them inside the sandwich. The sandwich was large, nice and toasty. The inside was soft and savory, with tomatoes, cheese, but also slight crunch with the shredded browns. My girlfriend had the Cubano Sausage Desayuno. I did get try her yellow grits. The grits were yellow because it was sweet corn based. It reminded of baby food, or food for the endentulous. Don't get me wrong it was yummy, and quite easy to swallow. I had sip of her Latte. I still don't know the difference between a latte and an espresso. Of course I could look it up, but that defeats the point of using it as a genuine conversation piece. Lastly we shared the guava cheesecake. I must say I did indeed taste the sweetness of the guava in the cake. I was so full I had to take my other half my croqueta preprada home, (something I did the last time too).
